Bimala Devi Temple is a Hindu temple dedicated to goddess Bimala, located within the Jagannath Temple complex in Puri in the Indian state of Orissa. It is generally regarded as a Shakti Pitha, among the holiest temples dedicated to the Hindu Goddess.1 Bimala also spelt Vimala Shakti Peeth Temple is a Hindu temple dedicated to Goddess Bimala. 2 The shrine is located next to the sacred pond called Rohini Kunda within the complex of Jagannath Temple at Puri, Odhisa.3 It is popularly called Bimala Khanda Shakthi Peeth and is also referred to as Oddiyana or Uddiyana in the Kalika Purana and Hevajara Tantra. 4 According to the Devi Purana, the navel of Goddess Sati fell in this area which makes this shrine one of the four important Adi Shakti Peetha. 5 The construction of this ancient temple was done in the Kalinga Architectural style which dates back to the 9th century.
